Please keep in mind that everything in Mykonos is much more expensive than on other islands or the mainland.

If for a double/twin room in a budget hotel you would pay 30/40 euros a night with breakfast, in Mykonos the price is 60 euros or more and without breakfast.

After all, this is the famous island of Mykonos where everyone wants to go, so prices are very high.

If you want to know all the secrets to visit this beautiful island without drying up your bank account, check out my article "15 Tips to Visit Mykonos on a Budget" and learn all the tricks I learned while exploring the island.

Surely you need to eat, but don't worry, I also wrote an article to help you eat delicious local Greek food without spending a month's salary on a meal.

Check out my article "11 Local Places Where to Eat Local on a Budget in Mykonos" to discover all the best places where to eat local food at a very reasonable price.

I don't want to change your mind about visiting Mykonos, it is worth it because it is beautiful, but keep in mind that there are many other beautiful islands in Greece that are less crowded and much cheaper.

My advice is don't spend all your holiday in Mykonos if money is an issue for you.

The best option is to spend only a couple of days on this island (just the time to see the most famous places) and spend the rest of your holiday exploring the islands nearby, like Paros, Ios, Naxos and many others.

Also, a good option is to visit Athens first (flights to Athens are cheaper than those going to Mykonos) and then catch a ferry to get to Mykonos.

In this way, you will also visit the Greek Capital and save some money on flights.

But let's see the options I found for you for your holiday in Mykonos.
