19 Most Beautiful Beaches in Mykonos Greece
Hey, beach bunnies and sun-kissed adventurers! It’s your super-organized, anxious travel blogger, Valentina, back with another travel guide guaranteed to melt your stress faster than a scoop of Mykonos gelato on a scorching summer day.
This time, we’re setting sail (virtually, of course) to the island of endless white sand, turquoise waters, and enough beach clubs to make your inner party animal do a happy dance – Mykonos!
Imagine sprawling out on a sunbed softer than a puppy’s ear, the Aegean Sea shimmering beside you like a million scattered diamonds. The only sounds are gentle waves lapping the shore and the distant clinking of glasses from a chic beach bar of one of the best beaches in Mykonos Greece.
You haven’t checked your phone in hours (incredible, isn’t it?), your worries have flown away with the seagulls, and the only decision you have to make is: piña colada or mojito? (I’d go with a Greek Ouzo).
But wait, hold your horses (or should I say, beach donkeys?) Mykonos isn’t just about sipping cocktails and perfecting your tan. This island has a beach for every kind of traveler, from party people who paint the town red (and pink, and orange…) to families building sandcastle empires and bibliophiles burying their noses in a good book (guilty as charged!).
Hi! I’m Valentina
I help travelers avoid travel anxiety by providing all the necessary info and tips to plan the most organized trip. Be part of my FREE VIP TRAVEL ZEN CENTRAL to receive my 42-page guide to becoming a super-organized traveler, weekly travel discounts, detailed itineraries, complete packing checklists, and more. Let’s fight travel anxiety together!
Just a heads-up, though: Mykonos is a hot spot, literally and figuratively. Think Hollywood stars and scenes straight out of a music video. So, if you like your beaches with a side of elbow room, June or September are your best bets. Prices are cooler, too (literally and figuratively!), and you won’t be battling for that perfect sunbed (unless you really want to; no judgment there either!).
Beach clubs? I got them! From VIP cabanas to budget-friendly loungers, there’s something for everyone. Just be prepared to loosen the purse strings a bit – those front-row sunbeds are like Mykonos real estate, prime and pricey!
So, grab your swimsuit and your fanciest floppy hat (because Mykonos, duh!), and get ready to dive into my ultimate guide to the best beaches on the island.
We’ll explore hidden coves, legendary party havens, and everything in between. Remember, the key to unlocking the true magic of Mykonos is choosing the right beach for your vibe.
Don’t worry; I’ll be your personal beach fairy godmother, sprinkling tips and tricks along the way! Just promise me one thing: don’t be like me and get so engrossed in your book that you miss the sunset over the Aegean. It’s a sight that’ll stay with you forever (unless you forget, like I tend to do while I’m in love with a novel…oops!).
Now, let’s get this beach party started!
Also, don’t forget your sunscreen, unless you want to get a bad sunburn and look like a lobster fresh out of the pot by the end of the day. In case you get sunburned, I have a list of the best homemade sunburn remedies.
Beach Clubs in Mykonos Prices
Some beach clubs will tell you that the sunbeds are free if you eat and drink at their bar/restaurants, so keep in mind that everything is expensive in these beach clubs. To give you some examples:
- Bottle of water 8 euros
- Milkshake 18 euros
- Any coffee and tea are 15 euros
- Soft drinks 500 ml 15 euros
- Energy drinks 18 euros
- Fresh Orange Juice 18 euros
- Spritz 25 euros
- Bottle of alcohol from 190 euros
- Cocktails from 25 euros
- A glass of Prosecco from 48 euros.
Oh boy, beach club prices! As a super-organized traveler, I always try to budget wherever I can (or at least I don’t waste money where there is no need), but Mykonos threw me a curveball. Here’s the deal:
I peeked at one club’s menu to use their restroom (don’t judge, a girl’s gotta go!). Their prices? Let’s say they could rival a private jet’s fuel bill. But hey, that’s the fame game, right? The more famous the beach club, the more you pay for those fancy cocktails and lobster rolls (though, honestly, my stomach grumbled for a souvlaki more!).
Speaking of sunbeds, renting can be like playing beachside musical chairs. The closer you are to the action (and the DJ!), the steeper the price. I snagged two sunbeds and an umbrella at Be Cool Cavo Psarou for 30 euros (third row, not bad, but it wasn’t a fancy beach club like the others!). But remember, prices change faster than a Mykonos tan, so always ask for prices before lying down on one and unpacking your beach bag!
Here’s the tricky part: some beach clubs take over so much space that finding a free spot feels like winning the sandcastle-building contest. But fear not, my lovely anxious traveler! You have rights!
If a security guard tries to shoo you away from the “free” zone, stand your ground (but politely, of course!). Remind them you deserve your beach bliss; if they persist, mention the lovely police (usually, that does the trick!).
So, while Mykonos might test your budgeting skills, remember that a perfect beach day doesn’t require VIP treatment (unless you have the budget; in that case, go and enjoy). Pack your towel, a smile, and knowledge of your rights, and explore those shores! ️
Also, don’t forget to check out my Mykonos Travel Guide Page to get access to all my articles about Mykonos Island.
Mykonos Water Taxi:
To reach the most famous beaches in the south of Mykonos, you can get water taxis that run along 7 of the most famous beaches from early morning to evening.
The water taxis start from Platis Gialos Beach (you can get there by bus or taxi) and will take you to the other beaches by paying a fee of 10 euros (one way), or you can purchase the all-day pass for 20 euros.
Mykonos Water Taxi Beaches: Ornos, Platis Gialos, Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise, Agrari, and Elia.
Alright, beach bums and sun-kissed wanderers, gather ’round! Your passport to Mykonos’ hottest shorelines awaits. Full disclosure: I haven’t personally tested every inch of sand (I had only three days in Mykonos, so visiting 19 beaches was quite a challenge).
But fear not, my anxious traveler; I’ve scoured the internet like a digital detective to bring you the lowdown on each beach.

Please think of me as your beachy fairy godmother, sprinkling travel intel like glitter! Now, I know Mykonos isn’t exactly known for its budget-friendly vibes. Let’s be honest; some islands throw shade with affordable sunbeds and €5 cocktails. But hey, if you’re on a shoestring, don’t fret!
Explore other Greek gems – trust me, there are plenty of stunning shorelines where a drink gets you a day’s worth of tanning, not a dent in your wallet. Spend a few days soaking up Mykonos’ charm – the Chora is adorable, and a couple of beach visits are necessary. Then, spread your wings (and your euros elsewhere) to discover equally dreamy islands that won’t break the bank!
But if you’re packing a suitcase full of “treat yourself” funds, Mykonos is your oyster, darling! Think luxury lounging, chic beach clubs, and enough champagne corks popping to rival New Year’s Eve. Remember, even with a bottomless budget, don’t forget to pack your sense of adventure! After all, the best memories are often made with sand between your toes and a smile, not just a designer label.
So, buckle up, beach bunnies, and get ready to dive into the ultimate Mykonos beach guide! Just promise me one thing: if you find the perfect sunbed, save a spot for this scatterbrained blogger, and don’t forget to tag me on your Instagram picture, okay?
The best beaches in Mykonos Greece
Beaches on the North Side of Mykonos:
1. Agios Sostis beach:
Agios Sostis is a tiny, natural, and quiet beach located in the north area of the island. There are no beach clubs here, so no sunbeds and loud music. This is the best place to go if you want to see the wild side of Mykonos before they all go to leave space for another expensive beach club.
The only way to get there is by car, so check prices and availability on Mykonos car rentals as I did.
Hotels with Agios Sostis Beach view:
Summer Mood Villas (private villa)
Horizon Traditional Beach House (mid-range private villa)
Bohemian Blue Villa (private villa)
Heads up! Love spending time in nature? Don’t miss the opportunity to attend a Sunset Sailing Cruise with Light Dinner and Drinks. Enjoy what’s behind the glamorous villas and nightclubs!
2. Fokos Beach:
Fokos Beach could quickly become your favorite beach in Mykonos if you hate a crowded beach full of sunbeds with music all day. You are not going to find any sunbeds or beach clubs here. This is a tranquil and wild beach where you can enjoy a nice swim and nap while lying on your towel.
It is located 13 km from the main town, and the way to get there is not easy, but as soon as you arrive and see this natural beach, you will love it.
In the case of wind, there could be pretty high waves, so please be careful if you decide to go for a swim. There is only one taverna nearby where you can get some drinks and local food.
Hotels close to Fokos Beach:
Sofos Suite (Mid-range Hotel)
Koukoumi Vegan Boutique Hotel (Luxury Hote)
Myconian Mythodea (Luxury Villa)
Heads up! Fancy a private boat party with your friends? Look at a private boat trip to have a boat just for you and your friends to have your private Mykonos boat party!
Travel Safety Tip: As soon as you book your next adventure, buy good travel insurance in case you need to “unfortunately” delay, extend, or cancel your trip. I usually find good deals on VISITORSCOVERAGE for up to 1 month of trip length and SAFETYWING for longer trips. They are insurance companies that cover everything related to your travel.

3. Panormos Beach:
One of the most secluded beaches on the island, Panormos Beach is the perfect spot if you are looking for a beach far from the main town. The sand is very soft, the water is crystal clear, and if you are looking for a luxury beach club, this is one of the places to go.
The famous Principote Beach Club is right there on the west side of the beach. If you want a luxurious way to spend your day, this is the right place for you. Principote Beach Club is so exclusive that you can also book the pick-up and drop-off at your accommodation and enjoy comfortable sunbeds, a VIP area, and everything else you wish to find in a private beach club.
Hotels with Panormos Beach view:
Albatros Club Mykonos (Luxury)
Panormos Village (Luxury)
Mykonos Panormos Villas (Luxury)
Beaches on the South Side of Mykonos:
4. Lia Beach:
Lia Beach is located 14 km from the main town, and there is no public transport to get there, so you have to rent a car to visit Mykonos, rent a scooter (if you already know how to drive it), or get a taxi. The water is spotless and clear. It can be an excellent spot for snorkeling.
If you don’t like a windy beach, I advise avoiding this one. Located on the northeast side of the island, it can be windy most of the time, but in case the wind doesn’t bother you, it could be a blessing so you won’t feel too hot (in this case, please wear a lot of aloe vera sunscreen lotion to avoid to get burnt).
Hotels near Lia Beach:
Vlia Mar Myconian Residences (Luxury Hotel)
Venus Myconian Residence (Mid-range)
Villa Nautilia (Luxury Hotel)
5. Old Port Beach:
The Old Port Beach is in the main town of Chora. Some people enjoy spending their day on this beach after spending the morning strolling along the famous white alleys of Chora and making the most of their Greek souvenirs hunting, but I do not recommend it.
Plenty of boats are anchored in front of it, and it is pretty crowded with tourists exploring the town. It is a lovely spot to take pictures, but there are many more beautiful and natural beaches around the island for sunbathing.
Hotels with Old Port Beach view:
Riva Suites (mid-range/high, Adults Only)
Porto Mykonos Hotel (mid-range)
Harmony Boutique Hotel-Mykonos Town (mid-range)

Agios Stefanos is a beach located near the new port of Mykonos, where you will arrive by ferry (unless you decide to fly directly to Mykonos). It is well protected from winds and some beach clubs, and a part of it is free. Around this beach are some tavernas and bars to enjoy something local.
This is also a good spot for a drink or dinner at sunset because it is on the island’s west side. You can get there by bus from the main town.

Mykonos Princess Hotel (mid-range)
Flaskos Suites (mid-range)
Paolas Sunset (budget)

Kalo Livadi Beach is another beautiful beach where you can swim, snorkel in crystal clear water, and then sip a good cocktail while sunbathing. There are some beach clubs with bars, restaurants, and a live DJ so you won’t get bored.
You can get there by bus from the main town.

I have been told Psarou Beach is the most exclusive beach in Mykonos. You will find many restaurants, water sports, shops, and fantastic sand here. It is located only 5 km from the main town. You can get there by bus or water taxi to Platis Gialos Beach.
Here, you will find the famous Nammos Mykonos that offers all the comfort you need for a fabulous day at the beach.
Hotels near Psarou Beach:
Mykonos Blu Grecotel Beautique Resort (Luxury Hotel)
Mykonos Drops (Luxury Hotel)
Psarou Blak Villa (private Villa)
13. Platis Gialos Beach:
Named the best beach of Mykonos by many, Platis Gialos Beach is a beach where you will find many restaurants, one mini-market in case you are looking for something cheap to eat or drink, and some beautiful hotels where to stay during your holiday in Mykonos.
This beach is located only 5 kilometers from the main town, and you can also get there by water taxi.

Hotels near Agia Anna Beach:

15. Paraga Beach:
Paraga Beach is another beautiful beach where you can sunbathe and swim. The water is so friendly and clean that you will jump into it every 5 minutes. There is sand and some rocks around it, where you can spot local fish, perfect for snorkeling.
There are many places to get an iced coffee (my favorite in Greece, so refreshing) and eat local Greek food. It is located 6 km from the main town, and you can get there by bus and water taxi.
Pssst! Plan Your Vacation in Mykonos! Read my articles in the “Most Complete Guide of Mykonos” and get all the info to make your next travel successful.
In the middle of this beautiful beach is one of Mykonos’s most famous beach clubs, the SantAnna Mykonos. I have been to this beach club, and it is the most beautiful place on a beach I have ever been to. There is a live DJ and a big swimming pool with comfortable sunbeds. The restaurant prepares delicious sushi, pasta, local fish, and every kind of drink you can crave.
If you want to dine at one of the best restaurants in Mykonos with a sea view, don’t miss reading my complete guide here.
On the west side of this beach, right on a hill, there is another famous Beach Club, the Scorpios. It is a fabulous place that recreates an ancient Agora, where people meet to spend a fantastic day.
The most incredible part of your day will be a magical sunset while sipping a good glass of wine. Also, don’t forget to check out the best sunset cruise in Mykonos to get the most romantic experience of your vacation!
Hotels near Paraga Beach:

16. Paradise Beach:
Paradise Beach is a fabulous party beach in Mykonos, where you can have fun and dance on the sand while sipping a cocktail. It is a bit quieter during the day (but the music can still be loud) while it gets much louder at sunset when all the party people start having real fun and dancing on the sunbeds.
Located 6 km from the main town, you can get there by bus or water taxi.
Hotels near Paradise Beach:
Tropicana Hotel (Budget Hotel)
Paradise View Hotel (Mid-range Hotel)

Super Paradise is the most gay-friendly beach on Mykonos (as I have been told), where you will find beach clubs and water sports. You can get there by bus from the main town, Fabrika Terminal, every couple of hours, or by water taxi. It is located 7 km from the main town.
On the right side of this beach is the most famous LGBTQ-friendly spot with pool and bay views. The Jackie O Beach Club is the perfect place to enjoy fabulous days, drink cocktails, and have fun with a drag show at sunset.

18. Agrari Beach:
Agrari Beach is a tranquil beach where you can relax. There is a beach club on one side, and the other side of the beach is free. It is also gay and nudism-friendly if you want a spot to get tan and show off as your mother made you.
I like this beach because it is not packed like the other ones. You will not have to walk right in front of the sunbeds for a nice walk on the shore. There are no buses to get there. You will either have to rent a car or a scooter, get to Elia by boat and then have a 15-minute walk, or get a water taxi from one of the other beaches.
There is only one restaurant and nothing else around. This beach is located 10 km from the main town.
Hotels near Agrari Beach:
Sunrise Hotel & Suites (Mid-range Hotel)
Ethereal Apartments (Mid-range)
Agrari Bo Suites (mid-range)

Before you go…
My lovely anxious travelers, by now, you’re probably picturing yourself reclining on a sunbed softer than a Mykonian kitten, toes wiggling in the Aegean Sea, and a cocktail as turquoise as the water itself in your hand. Admit it, you’re already planning your Instagram captions! But hold on one second because picking the perfect beach is like choosing the right shade of white linen – it’s a serious business!
But fret not, my fellow super-organized travelers, because I’ve done the hard work for you! This little list of beachy paradises, complete with their charming hotels and villas nestled nearby, is like your passport to a stress-free Mykonos escape.
No more frantic Googling, no more “Φόβος για τη λήψη αποφάσεων” (that’s Greek for “decision anxiety,” in case your vocabulary needs a little Mykonos upgrade!), just pure, unadulterated relaxation.
So, pack your cutest swimsuit (and maybe a backup, because let’s be honest, sand happens!), fill up your travel beach bag, and get ready to thank me later when you’re sipping on that cocktail, your worries melting away faster than a scoop of Mykonian gelato in the August heat.
Now, who’s ready to make some unforgettable memories (and maybe break the internet with their beach selfies)?
This blogger is off to find the fluffiest beach towel – research is hard work, darlings!
Your super-organized travel blogger
Xoxo Valentina
